ABOUT US

Who We Are:

We are Christians who seek to follow the pattern of the early church of the New Testament.

We believe that patterns have been established that show what God expects from us in worship to Him.
Our primary concern is with the spiritual needs of men and women –and their need for
  • God
  • Forgiveness of sins
  • Genuine God-pleasing worship
  • Pure lives lived in accordance with God’s word.

We believe the Lord's church is simply people saved from their sins by God and added to His church (Acts 2:47).
We also believe that Christians are living stones built by God to be His spiritual house (1 Peter 2:4-5).
With that in mind, we believe the church is not an earthly building built by man
,
but the church is the people - baptized believers.

We believe that the Lord's church is completely independent of other churches or religious organizations.
As the Bible pattern clearly shows there is no authority for any organization or religious hierarchy aside from a local body of Christians, we are not a part of any association of churches or any denomination.
We are Christians (Acts 11:26)
Disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:24).

This group of believers belong to Christ; and we strive to be the church of Christ revealed in the Bible
(Romans 16:16).

GOD:
We believe God is the creator and sovereign ruler of the universe and all that is in it (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; Romans 1:20).
He eternally exists in three distinct beings:  The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit.
These three co-exist as the one and only God (and existed this way even before the beginning) (Psalm 90:2; John 1:1-2; Colossians 1:15-20).

JESUS CHRIST:
We believe that Jesus is the Messiah that was spoken of by the prophets of the Old Testament (Acts 2:22-36; Matthew 1:21-22).
  • We believe that Jesus is the son of God and that He was willing to temporarily give up His position in Heaven to be born of a woman and take on flesh to become son of man to save us from our sins.
  • We believe He lived a sinless life on this earth even though He was tempted in every way and willingly offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice for all men and women by dying on a cross for our sins (Hebrews 4:14-15; Galatians 1:3-4).
  • We believe that on the third day He was raised from the dead and ascended back to Heaven with his promise to return and that God gave Him all authority to judge mankind in the end of time (Acts 1:9-11; John 5:25-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

THE BIBLE:
We believe the Bible is God’s holy word which was spoken and written by individuals who were inspired by God from the book of Genesis to Revelation.
The writers understood and insisted that the words they penned were accurate and factual, and should be accepted, not based on a lack of evidence or a “shot in the dark” but on abundant and verifiable proof (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Matthew 7:21; 2 John 9).

IN SALVATION:
We believe that salvation from sin and spiritual death is offered by God through His sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His grace (Ephesians 2:1-10; Titus 2:11; Romans 3:20-26).
Salvation is a free gift and cannot be achieved through good works or self-improvement on our part, it is truly a gift from God.
All people have sinned and fall short of God’s glory, but all people can be saved (Romans 3:23; Acts 2:39).

SALVATION – HOW DO WE RECEIVE IT:
1. One needs to hear God’s word (Acts 2:36-37; Romans 10:17)
2. One
needs to believe that Christ has the power to save (Acts 16:30-33)
3. One
needs to confess Jesus is the Son of God and was raised from the dead. (Romans 10:9-10).
4. One
needs to repent of their sins. (Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19).
5. One
needs to be baptized into Christ by immersion in water, participating in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-4) to receive the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38; Galatians 3:26-29; Titus 3:3-7; 1 Peter 3:21).
6. One
needs to continue to remain faithful and walk in Jesus’ light and have fellowship with other Christians so that the blood of Jesus will continue to cleanse us from our sins (1 John 1:7).

Finally, we believe as a disciple of Christ that our faith will be manifested in obedience to God’s will.
(Romans 14:7-8; James 2: 14-20; Romans 6:16-18; Matthew 7:21; 2 Peter 3:11-13).
